New Hope Names 2023 Appreciation Award Recipients

December 8, 2023

At its 2023 Annual Appreciation Event, held Tuesday, November 28, New Hope welcomed over 100 donors, volunteers and community supporters to the Carrollton Inn for a night of celebration, recognition and appreciation.

“The Annual Appreciation Event is our night to say thank you and to recognize those who help us support our mission throughout the year,” explains Angie Owen, New Hope Foundation Director.

The event recognizes long-term employees who have celebrated 40+ year milestone anniversaries with the organization, donors who have reached new donor levels within the last year, new members to New Hope’s Legacy Society and individuals who have remembered New Hope in their estates and bequests. The big moment of the evening is the announcement of the Appreciation Award Recipients.

“Each year, New Hope recognizes individuals, groups or organizations who have gone above and beyond in support of our mission, enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities. This year, we recognized three individuals or organizations who were deserving of this award,” adds Owen.

The 2023 New Hope Appreciation Award recipients were:

Renew Church. Renew Church has gone above and beyond for New Hope and individuals enrolled in New Hope’s Connections program. Renew Church opens its doors for bible study with new Hope every other week, including singing, scripture, conversation and a craft project or game; the Church hosts dances with Pastor Tim Hawkinson as DJ; and recently they’ve opened their gym one day a week for individuals to play basketball and other games.

Phic Lovan. Phic and National Seating and Mobility work closely with New Hope and those New Hope serves to provide personalized services and products including the barrier free lift systems, wheelchairs and more. Phic has been New Hope’s provider for more than 15 years and he works closely with New Hope clients, therapists and the adaptive equipment department to ensure needs are met and that each individual has the equipment needed to live their best lives. New Hope’s Adaptive Equipment Specialist, Tom Allen, gave a very touching tribute to the personalized services Phic has provided over the years.

Caroline “Carl” Dieter. Carl Dieter was awarded a 2023 New Hope Appreciation Award for her service to New Hope and those we serve, Friday nights at the Family Table in Carroll. Each Friday night, many New Hope homes enjoy dinner out at Family Table, and Carl makes sure to welcome New Hope into the restaurant, knowing everyone’s names, preferences, favorite sodas and more. She takes the time to talk with everyone and has become a friend to all.

New Hope congratulates Renew Church, Phic Lovan and Caroline Dieter for their award recognition, and thanks for them for their service and support of the New Hope mission.
