Families Update from the Leadership Council

July 12, 2023

New Hope Families,

It has been another productive week at New Hope, fulfilling our mission of enriching the lives of those we serve. Last week, many of us had an opportunity to celebrate the 4th of July holiday in some way. Our
on-campus residential homes had a 4th of July home decorating contest, and the patriotic spirit was infectious!

The past week has also been an important week for New Hope’s Leadership Council, which is in the process of putting together a new, 90-Day Operational Plan. The goal of this plan is to ensure continuity of care and a focus on our mission until a new CEO can begin.

Over the next 90 days, the Leadership Council will focus on the following five key areas:

  • Mission
  • Workforce
  • Services
  • Quality
  • Foundation

While our work is just beginning as a Leadership Council, we are beginning to layout several actionable items in each of these areas.

  • Mission. The Leadership Council is looking strongly at each of the projects and initiatives New Hope has started and is weighing them against our mission. We have identified that providing quality services to the individuals we serve must be at the forefront of every decision we make. We are also dedicated to increased communication and transparency with our employees and our families. In the future, you will see communications on a regular basis so necessary conversations can continue, and we can all move forward together, unified in one mission.
  • Workforce. As a Leadership Council, we are so very thankful for our New Hope team. It is because of this team we are able to do what we do, every single day. We also recognize that growing our team of caring and dedicated employees is needed to fulfill our mission. While there is no easy answer to this puzzle, we are working on devising a recruitment plan for the future.
  • Quality. New Hope has a long history of providing quality care and services. In the past, DIA (Department of Inspections and Appeals) inspections and CARF surveys have shown New Hope employees are dedicated to quality and have a strong understanding of the rules and regulations governing our industry. Our goal is to continue to provide this high standard of quality care.
  • Foundation. The New Hope Foundation and its donors have created a strong base to carry New Hope well into the future. We look to continue to grow the Endowment and other project areas started by the Foundation, partner closely with the Family Association, and increase our volunteer support for the benefit of New Hope.

These will be our key focus areas and, in the weeks ahead, you can expect to receive regular communication on specific efforts in each.

To assist in communication efforts, we have also put together this online portal for our families and guardians. Like the online portal offered during COVID, this will be a webpage where you can access these same updates and information. In the event you are concerned you may have missed an email update, you can access the latest information by logging onto the portal.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the Leadership Council, as we are all dedicated to ensuring a culture of open communication and commitment to New Hope’s mission. Together, we are moving New Hope forward!

Sincerely,

LeAn Taylor, Chief Program Officer
