It’s hard to believe the Iowa State Fair starts today! Where has summer gone?
As we’ve been doing, the Leadership Council will continue to send weekly updates. While we continue to emphasize it weekly, it’s important and bears repeating – we have identified five core values that we are continuing to focus on: mission, workforce, services, quality and foundation. Each week, the Leadership Council meets to make sure the work the agency is doing aligns with these core values, and that we are making forward progress on these efforts. Some weeks, that progress may seem slow, and some weeks it may seem like it is happening by leaps and bounds. But this is all to be expected, as those big projects (the leaps and bounds) often take weeks of slow gains to happen. So, please rest assured we are moving forward, whether that’s an inch at a time, or by leaps and bounds. The important thing to remember is that we’re moving forward together.
We want to let you know that within the next week there will likely be an article in the Carroll Herald focusing on New Hope. While we are not privy to all the details of the article, it’s our understanding the newspaper has spoken with former staff members regarding recent workforce crunches. They’ve also given New Hope an opportunity to reply. New Hope has replied to all of the newspaper’s questions with honesty and integrity. The fact is, we are working to tackle our current workforce shortage and, while things have not always been easy the past few months, we are working daily to make improvements. In the past 30 days, New Hope has come a long way, and we look to only continue to improve.
This evening, New Hope will be celebrating summer with a luau and dance in the Activity Building gym from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for those we serve. If you want to see New Hope’s mission live and in action, there will be no better opportunity! As you’re aware, our New Hope team has been making great efforts to incorporate more activities into the daily lives of those we serve, and it’s great to be able to see the smiles on so many faces at activities like this each week.
In closing, please know the Leadership Council and everyone at New Hope appreciates the support of our New Hope families! If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the Leadership Council at any time.
