Direct Support Professional


We have full-time, part-time and substitute hours available.   


Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions provide assistance to adults with disabilities in either a campus or community-based setting. DSP provide assistance with daily activities such as personal care, community outings, leisure activities, meals, laundry, and cleaning. DSP are also responsible for data collection and documentation. In addition, DSP in our community homes administer medications. No prior experience is required; we provide paid classroom instruction and on the job training with an assigned mentor to help assure a successful career with New Hope.

Scheduling Options:

New Hope offers many scheduling options to help meet the needs of persons served and employees. In our community homes we offer longer shifts but fewer days which work well for commuters. Our community homes are located in Carroll and Glidden. Our campus homes are located in Carroll and offer more traditional shifts for those looking for a more traditional schedule.

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic calculations
  • Campus home staff must be 16 years of age or older
  • Community home staff must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and be insurable under our agency's auto insurance, and also the ability to successfully complete the Medication Manager course after hire

Responsible for accepting quality donations of furniture, clothing and housewares.  Assist with maintaining donor receipts.  Help accept and lift boxes and bags of donated items following safe lifting criteria.  Responsible for sorting quality selection of goods donated to the store.  Required to work weekends and evenings on a rotation basis.   




Residential Campus Cook

Ensure all food for the campus homes is prepared based on the menus which have been developed by a registered dietician and the food is pureed to the appropriate consistency prior to delivery to the homes.

Ensure food is prepared in a sanitary manner and you will wear appropriate items such as apron, hair net and gloves.

Will clean kitchen countertops, small appliances, sweep and mop floor daily before leaving for the day.


The full-time position is day hours working 6-2 p.m. Mon - Fri and every 3rd weekend 7-3 p.m.


Also hiring 2 part-time weekend package positions as Campu Cook.    Will work 2 out of 3 weekends on the 7-3 shift.    Rate for weekend package positions is $17.04.
